Sun Scorpio/Moon Taurus
This Full Moon is a powerful culmination cycle and a new beginning of the previous Eclipses in April and May earlier in the year. It is an integration phase between the Sun and the Moon, our inner sense of Self, and the outer expression of it. The Lunar Eclipse brings an increased intensity to an already robust transit.
In general, the full Moon is an opposition to the New Moon concerning the interaction between the Sun and the Moon. The New moon begins a cycle, while the full Moon is the beginning of bringing this new cycle into the social sphere. It is where it is reflected to us by others so we can see it. Two weeks ago, the New Moon was in Libra with the added intensity of the Solar Eclipse.
This Full Moon now sees the Sun in Scorpio and the Moon in Taurus with a powerful Lunar Eclipse. The Sun is shining its light on deeply held emotional attachments limiting our ability to empower ourselves. It asks us to look deep within ourselves to expose what might be disempowering and to expose it and then transmute these limiting emotions. The Moon in Taurus reflects our inner world and the sense of security concerning survival and meeting our needs and self-esteem. Where do we feel disempowered about the ability to meet our needs?
We are integrating the energies surrounding these deep emotional attachments with our inner world, sense of Self, and how we feel about ourselves. Through our relationships, we will see where we disempower, related to these deep emotional issues that we have held. It’s important to remember that if there is intensity in our relationships, a subconscious emotional attachment triggers us. The Sun shines light on this, while the Moon reflects our inner survival needs. Take note!
Sun in Scorpio, Moon in Taurus square, Pluto in Capricorn
The Sun, our authentic selves, is how we self-actualize in this lifetime. In Scorpio, the Sun shines light on the part of our consciousness that penetrates or exposes what hides beneath the surface. To discover what we hide, we look to the Taurus archetype. Here, we find the Moon and Jupiter ®. Taurus seeks to keep us alive. When the Moon is in Taurus, our inner security focuses on survival needs. What is hidden beneath the surface concerning how we get our needs met? Jupiter ® in Taurus accelerates, expands, and brings freedom to our truth and beliefs about survival.
The Sun square Pluto is exposing the control we have over our ability to self-actualize. Where have we given our power away? Are we allowing the world outside of us to control our ability to self-actualize? It is a first-quarter square signifying a crisis in action. It is a challenge that requires us to look at where we have given our authority away and then create personal boundaries to regain our power.
The Moon in Taurus square Pluto in Capricorn highlights how our vulnerable inner realm is to draw toward itself the necessities for survival. Pluto in Capricorn transforms the authority over how this is manifested from outer control to inner control. It is a first-quarter square, a crisis in action, and requires a change of direction.
In both cases, the Sun and the Moon encourage us to self-actualize and meet our needs.
Let’s look at what else is influencing this powerful Moon cycle. We will begin with the inner planets.
Sun Scorpio Opposed Moon/Jupiter ® conjunction
The Moon and Jupiter are in a closing phase in Taurus. Jupiter ® in Taurus is accelerating the expansion or freedom to live well to meet our individual and collective needs. The Moon is aligning our inner world and sense of security with the ability to survive. This conjunction completes the cycle of aligning our sense of Self with an expansion in our truth to live well. The Sun in Scorpio is shining its light on deep emotional attachments and limitations to personal empowerment. The integration between these two energies points to our expanded belief to live well through the unearthing of emotional attachments to others. This integration empowers our relationships by creating a balance between Self and others concerning survival.
Venus is the Focus
Venus is a vital planet during this Eclipse because it makes aspects to everything except the North Node (NN) and Saturn. Why is this significant? The South Node (SN) represents our past identity, the Self we have been. In Libra, which Venus rules, it asks us to visit how we have shown up in our relationships. Have they been balanced? What needs to change so that our relationships are balanced?
Venus in Virgo trine Pluto Capricorn
Venus has moved into a trine aspect with Pluto. This alignment focuses on how we relate to ourselves and others. The sign of Virgo refers to where we have yet to achieve competency within our relationships. It requires a step-by-step process with adjustments along the way. We may feel we are not good enough, resulting in us giving up or becoming emotionally paralyzed. We are integrating this step-by-step process with transforming our emotional maturity and resiliency. It takes time.
Venus in Virgo opposing Neptune in Pisces
Venus, the planet of relating, in Virgo, speaks to inner adjustments necessary to find a balance between ourselves and that which we connect with. It is helping us to integrate these self-adjustments with the dissolving nature of our reality.
Venus in Virgo inconjunct Chiron ® in Aries
Our inner adjustments regarding relating to ourselves and others may cause an inner crisis due to a blind spot with Chiron. Chiron points out a deep sensitivity to rejection from showing up for ourselves.
Venus Virgo trine Jupiter ® Taurus
Venus relates to our survival needs and how we relate to ourselves and others to meet those needs. We are required to make adjustments to the Self, regarding our relationships. The trine suggests that work is necessary to create harmony to accelerate the expansion of our truth concerning our ability to sustain ourselves.
Venus Virgo trine Uranus ® Taurus
Again, inner adjustments are needed in our relationships to create harmony. With Uranus ® In Taurus, it is speaking to breaking free from emotional limitations concerning how we survive. It speaks to us on the individual level as well as on the collective. Uranus can bring shocking change because it represents electricity, progress, and transformation. The inner adjustments that we make to how we meet needs and what we value will help us in our ability to find balance in our relationships.
Venus Virgo sesquiquadrate to the Full Moon
The inner adjustments required for our relations are interacting with the Full Moon in a way that may bring up a crisis that requires outer adjustment as we struggle to assert our needs in our relationships.
Venus in Virgo semisquare to the Sun
The inner adjustments through a step-by-step process to become sufficient at meeting our needs within relationships is experiencing a new crisis as we begin to accelerate the shift between the past and the future concerning exposing our emotional attachments and limitations. We may want to withdraw and internalize the consciousness to become aware of the new impulse of a new cycle. Instead, there is a need for experimentation with our new process. These experimentations may create conflict and confusion.
Mercury/Mars in Scorpio is in a new phase conjunction to the Sun
Mercury, the planet of left-brain mental faculties and communication, Speaks to a penetrating mind in Scorpio. It outlines the ability to expose something hidden that needs communicating. Mars, the planet of showing up to explore a new curiosity, is also in Scorpio, outlining that this penetrating mind is blending with the actions and desire to uncover that which we cannot see. This combination creates a new impulse to use our mental faculties to uncover and communicate our deep emotional attachments.
So, as the Sun is shining its light and allowing us the ability to penetrate our deep emotional attachments, this new phase energy of Mercury and Mars is giving us the fuel and the sharpness of mind to see what we are trying to uncover within us.
Mercury Closing Phase to Mars
While both Mercury and Mars are in a new phase to the Sun, Mercury is also in a closing phase to Mars. It signifies that our previous way of looking into our depths is ending, and a new path will begin shortly after the Eclipse energy.
Mercury/Mars conjunction in opposition to the Moon-Jupiter Conjunction
Mercury and Mars are in a closing phase conjunction and oppose the Full Moon and Jupiter’s retrograde conjunction. It is an integration of opposing energies. We are simultaneously accelerating and individuating beliefs about our sense of security and ability to survive well with a new way of showing up to explore the depths of our unconscious attachments to uncover what we hide in our emotional field.
Mercury conjunction Mars in Scorpio disseminating phase to Neptune in Pisces
The impulse to use our mental faculties to uncover and communicate our deep emotional attachments becomes obscure with Neptune. As Mercury culminates with Mars, it ends a way of thinking and perceiving the world. We enter another crisis between the old and new ways of seeing reality that has not yet revealed itself. Here, we need to experiment, and this can create conflict.
Neptune Pisces inconjunct SN Libra
Neptune in Pisces is culminating a cycle of idealism - how we thought things were. The inconjunct to the SN refers to the blind spot between this dissolving idealism and our past identity in relationships. This blind spot creates crises in our relationships that relate to the past sense of Self.
Saturn ® in Pisces sextile Moon in Taurus
The function of Saturn in Pisces is to dissolve old structures that no longer serve us in our evolution. We experience this energy as a loss of meaning with the old, worn-out systems in our lives, a job, school, a relationship, etc. It is creating space for the new beginnings that are upon us.
Saturn ® Pisces trine Sun in Scorpio
The dissolving of old structures that no longer serve us forms a trine aspect with the Sun in Scorpio. The Sun in Scorpio shines light on deep emotional attachments so we can see them. The harmonious energy of the trine helps us to expose these attachments and to dissolve them.
Saturn ® Pisces trine SN Libra
This alignment refers to the acceleration of the dissolving of worn-out structures in our reality, trine to the SN in Libra; it assists us in dissolving our past identity in relationships to make room for the new.
Saturn ® in Pisces sextile Moon in Taurus new phase
This alignment points to our inner security and sense of Self and our ability to be self-reliant when it comes to survival and meeting our needs. A sextile is supporting energy. Here, the dissolving ideals lend an impetus to the need for self-reliance.
Pluto in Capricorn square the nodal Axis in Aries and Libra
The backdrop, the dance of the outer planets, hasn’t changed much in 2 weeks. Pluto in Capricorn continues to square the Lunar nodes in Aries and Libra. Pluto squaring the nodes represents a skipped step in our evolution. It points to where we have a deep emotional attachment to placing the authority for our lives outside ourselves. It has caused a lack of resiliency and emotional immaturity because we are not yet proficient at it. We guide our existence by promoting change in our authority from outside to inside. We do this by setting boundaries. It leads to resolving the SN by seeking balance in our relationships, and we can then integrate the NN and act more spontaneously according to our desires.
To resolve this past way of being, we look to the South Node to confront how we have identified ourselves through outer relationships. Where have we put ourselves second? Have we catered to the world outside ourselves to the point that we have neglected our inner world? If so, Pluto in Capricorn, the undercurrent, urges us to take charge and integrate our inner world to achieve balance.
Pluto Capricorn Sextile Neptune ® Pisces
The sextile to Neptune retrograde in Pisces is supporting Pluto in Capricorn. Neptune Retrograde is accelerating our connection to pure consciousness. Pisces is the archetype of consciousness. It takes on whatever form is influencing it. Each of us holds a particular consciousness according to our culture, experiences, and sense of the meaning of our reality. Neptune, the ruler of Pisces, acts to dissolve previous forms of consciousness. Neptune in Pisces attempts to dissolve all barriers of consciousness—a leveling of the playing field. Neptune retrograde in Pisces is completing a cycle of consciousness. As the barriers to consciousness begin to dissolve, it allows us to take on our own sense of meaning in life. We can become our own authority as to what is real.
Pluto in Capricorn trine Uranus ® in Taurus
The transmutation of our boundaries in consciousness, which includes our emotional limitations, affects where we place the locus of control in our lives. Changing our emotional boundaries is in a flow state, an integration that produces harmony with Uranus ® in Taurus. Uranus in Taurus accelerates the breaking free from old, worn-out patterns that affect our survival ability.
In Taurus, there is a dynamic where we hide or withdraw from things for our protection. We see this in nature as a creature fleeing into its hole when a predator is nearby. In humanity, we can see this when a child does something, and when asked about it, there is denial. The child hides the truth to protect himself from getting in trouble. This dynamic is rampant in our culture. As adults, we tend not to involve ourselves in situations that can produce conflict. It is a protective mechanism.
Uranus in Taurus describes the need to break free from old, worn-out survival methods. When it is retrograde, it points to an acceleration of this dynamic. It is related to the outer authority. When we perceive conflict, we tend to become complacent.
Pluto in Capricorn is transforming our emotional limitations (fear) to place the control of our beingness back where it belongs, inside of us. It will allow for the integration of breaking free from the limitations that no longer serve us. Complacency enables a situation to remain as it is.
Finger of God (SN, Uranus, Neptune)
The finger of God configuration is a crisis point requiring internal and external adjustment. It can produce frustration because the cause of the crises is generally unseen. Once revealed, we can make adjustments. The stress point is the vertex of the Yod (Finger of God). In this case, the above inconjuncts that require adjustment are stressing the SN in Libra. It is where we have had repeated experiences within our past way of relating to folks. This Finger of God, or Yod configuration, points us to a fork where we need to make different choices within ourselves.
What does it all mean?
It means that as we culminate this Eclipse season, we feel Scorpio’s intensity. This Lunar Eclipse is powerful, allowing us to dive deeply into ourselves to uncover emotional limitations to our survival. The outer planets remain essentially unchanged as they reflect the slow-moving backdrop that is the undercurrent.
The undercurrent asks us to balance our relationships and reclaim our authority. It will help us develop the emotional maturity and resilience needed to navigate the future.
This Full Moon is illuminating fears and limitations we have hidden to keep ourselves safe. We have forsaken our authenticity to keep the peace or meet our needs within our relationships. It is of great detriment to us. As we hide parts of ourselves, we become limited. All the outer planets are assisting us in breaking down old ways to become our authentic selves.
Venus is the star of the show. As the ruler of the SN, she is asking us to adjust ourselves. She focuses on creating a balance between our inner world and outer relationships. It is the key. Where are we not being true to ourselves? Venus is also ruling the Moon, Jupiter, and Uranus. Here, she asks us to adjust how we relate to ourselves. What is the vulnerability we are hiding that causes us not to treat ourselves as equal to the rest of the world? Uranus seeks to break this pattern in us. And Jupiter is expanding our beliefs and offering us the door to freedom.
It is hard work, y’all! The goal is the NN. A new sense of Self that can meet its needs and show up to do what we came here for.
